One month mark - and colic begins ????

Almost exactly one month to the date little E started to get fussy. He seemed to grunt a lot and always seemed to be passing gas and struggle to get the farts out. I was about to try giving up dairy and pass on the jalapenos but then I stumbled across this article. Day two of the new feeding schedule and he seems much better. I guess that I was switching him from one side to the other while breastfeeding to help with the pressure on my boobs but never letting him empty the full amount on either side and therfore he wasn't getting enough fatty hind milk, and this was putting way too much lactose into his colon.

He has had many of the other symptoms of this for example choking while feeding, and a lot of weight gain (almost a pound a week) Now we are only nursing one side per session and if he wants more within that two - three hour period then I put him back on the same side he just finished. I express a little milk from the other side (not saving it) if my breast is too engorged.

It's only day two but I think we are on to something!

Things have been great with the new way of feeding - Easton hasn't had much gas or pain since the change.
